Grading & Reporting

How Oak Grove measures and reports student progress.

Standards-based reporting (K–5)

In grades K–5, Oak Grove uses standards-based grading. Rather than a single letter grade, report cards show how well a student is meeting each grade-level standard, giving families a clearer picture of specific strengths and areas to grow.

Traditional grading (6–8)

In grades 6–8, students receive traditional letter grades.

Learner characteristics

Alongside academics, students are assessed on learner characteristics — the habits and behaviors that support success, such as responsibility, engagement, and working well with others.

Assessment

Oak Grove uses the i-Ready diagnostic to understand each student's growth over the year, alongside state assessments and other measures. Families can learn more at the i-Ready Family Resource Center.
